If you are a Cipollina's fan, what you find here and what
i share with you is something unique. I've put together some
conpletely uncirculated sessions from my personal masters starting
from the really first attempt to form Copperhead to arrive to
some tracks from the never released second lp. This is something
i want to assemble together since a long time, and i never did
before, so now i finally did it, and if you are a dedicated John's
music fan, now you know that sometimes the dreams come true. (Fabio 38f)

These two albums that are totally different from the rest of the career of
guitarist Mick Green that was exceptional.
The first appeared in 1975 is a blend of soul music and various other
influences that are far from the basics of rock'n'roll by Mick. This is in
fact due to the musicians that surround Mick, especially the singer Chuck
Bedford (Great soul singer), which is the main composer with Mick Green. An
album full of fine superb compositions with bright guitars and vocals!!!
The kind of album that should have been a total success!!!
The second see an almost complete change of personnel with the addition of
fantastic singer Clif Bennett (Toe Fat) and guitarist Brian Alterman (Great
slide guitarist). There are only Mick and Pete Kircher from the first
album. The music is different, more focused rock'n'roll with the voice of
Cliff (This proves the importance of the singers in these 2 discs) ...
There is the classic "Shakin All Over" very successful but also more
adventurous compositions as Let's Get The Hell or Nobody's Fool ... In
short two gems never reissued on cd (Which is a shame when you see the
number of bad reissued discs!)

Mahogany - Magohany (1969 uk hard blues blended hard rock - FLAC)

Mahogany – ever hear of them. Well, if you were in the US they would be
unknown, if you were in the UK, they would have been familiar to you blues
fanatics, but this recording was never issued in the UK, only in a country
that didn't know them – the US. Go figure.
The band existed only for a little under two years, and started off as
Mahogany Guinness, later shortened to just plain Mahogany. They were a
Chicago-styled blues band and fit right in with all the other groups of the
era, Savoy Brown, Fleetwood Mac and Ten Years After.
They were 'discovered' by Tony Clark (he of Moody Blues fame) who cut this
wonderful album for Epic.
On this their only Lp, Mahogany proves that original blues material (they
composed everything on the album), if played with skill and vitality, can
elicit from an audience that pure gut level reaction.
Magohany is comprised of four young performers, each of whom has had
extensive musical experience prior to joining the group: Stephen Darrington
(organ), Joseph Southall (bass guitar), John MacKay (lead guitar, lead
vocals) and Paul Hobbs (drums).
Although t are only four members of Mahogany, their musical skill is
considerable: between three of them they play no less than ten instruments
including trumpet, violin and classical guitar.
Organist Stephen Darrington describes his compositions as "innumerable
drunken 12-bar blues"
filled as they are with wronged lovers, drinking bouts, packing up and
parting times-but like the best of blues they're exhilarating, cathartic,
and sometimes, even happy.
